CECRI Recruitment 2022 – CSIR – Central Electrochemical Research Institute, Karaikudi has announced an online notification for recruitment to the post of Scientific Administrative Assistant/Project Associate-I/Project Associate-II/Senior Project Associate /Project Associate-I/Project Assistant/Junior Research Fellow (JRF) . There are a total of 31 vacancies are to be filled for these posts.
Interested candidates who completed their Diploma/B.E/B.TEch/M.Sc/Any Degree in relevant field can attend the walk-in-interview on upto 30 June 2022. The detailed eligibility and selection process are given below in detail.
Central Electro Chemical Research Institute: It is one of a chain of 40 national laboratories under the aegis of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research in New Delhi.
It is founded on 25 July 1948 at Karaikudi in Tamil Nadu. During the last 50 years, CECRI has been recognised as the premier institution for development and research in electrochemical science and technology not only in India but also in South East Asia.
There are 4 extension centers for CECRI, located at Cochin, Chennai, Tuticorin and Mandapam. It also conducts short term refresher courses for the benefit of industry and educational institutions.

Detailed Eligibility:
Educational Qualification:
Scientific Administrative Assistant :
- Graduate degree in any discipline with 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST). Experience: Knowledge of handling administrative files, soft skills, note writing, lab management
Project Associate-I :
- M.Sc. in Chemistry /Physics with 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST). Experience: Experience in the field of electro catalyst, synthesis of nanomaterials, characterizations of nanomaterials and fuel cells.
- OR M.Sc. in Chemistry with 55% of Marks (50% marks for SC/ST). Experience: Experience in the field of polymer chemistry and electrochemistry will be preferred.
- OR M.Sc. in Chemistry with 55% of Marks (50% marks for SC/ST). Experience: Experience in the field of electro catalyst, synthesis of nanomaterials, characterisations of nanomaterials and fuel cells. OR
- B.E/B.Tech in Chemical Engineering with 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST) with GATE qualification (If suitable GATE qualified candidates are not available, candidates without GATE will be engaged).
- Experience: Knowledge of fuel cells, hydrogen energy, thermodynamics will be preferred.
Project Associate-II :
- B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical/ Chemical Engineering with 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST) with GATE qualification AND 2 years’ experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and services (If suitable GATE qualified candidates are not available, candidates without GATE will be engaged).
- Experience: Experience in the field of fuel cell engineering, thermal management, reactor designing, AutoCAD/Inventor for 2D and 3D designs, Modelling softwares such as COMSOL, Ansys and ASPEN
Senior Project Associate :
- M.Sc. in Chemistry with 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST) AND 4 years’ experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services OR Doctoral Degree in Science/Engineering from recognized university or equivalent.
- Experience: Experience in the field of electro catalyst, synthesis of nanomaterials, characterizations of nanomaterials and fuel cells.
Upper Age Limit :
- Scientific Administrative Assistant – 50 Years
- Project Associate-I – 35 Years
- Project Associate-II – 35 Years
- Senior Project Associate – 40 Years
Relaxations in Upper Age Limit:
- 5 years for SC candidates
- 3 years for OBC candidates
